For as long as I can remember, I have had a passion for music. Throughout my career, I've developed a strong tendency to be a creative visionary. I know that visionaries can sometimes get very frustrated because their visions are not realistic enough to bring to life. However, every musical project I’ve embarked upon has proven to be attainable thus far. That doesn’t mean that my visions have not taken me into uncharted territory…quite the contrary. Each time I’ve come up with an idea, I’ve had people look at me with very quizzical expressions. But when the idea comes to life, those expressions are transformed into looks of fascination. People become more and more intrigued as they witness things they have never seen done before.

One of the children's books I grew up with was a book called "The Carrot Seed." I rediscovered it when we bought it for our young daughter, Madeline. In this book, a little boy plants a carrot seed. In the most determined way, he cares for it every day, pulling up the weeds around it, and sprinkling the ground around it with water. He does this without reservation, in spite of the fact that his parents and his brother tell him "I'm afraid it won't come up." But in the end, a carrot comes up (one that's as big as the kid and fills his entire wheelbarrrow), "just as the little boy knew it would." This book speaks to me, because in my mind's eye I can see the finished product, even when no one else can. On a side note, my family has been very supportive of me, even if they can't yet see my vision.
I'm so grateful to the Lord for giving me the ability to create unique, yet accessible musical experiences through my inventions. I'm also very grateful to my father, who, through his skill and insight, has helped to make these inventions possible. I encourage you to visit the links above to learn about each of the custom devices I use.
My father, Tom Harsh, has helped me create and build each of the custom devices I use onstage.
