Teaching Biography: David Harsh

David Harsh is an award-winning guitarist who enjoys seeing the faces of his students light up when they learn something new about music.  He has taught music in several capacities for over 13 years, and he performs his original innovative songs across the country in a full-time career.  His background includes a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance, so his understanding of music theory is extensive.

Known for his musical creativity, David has recorded and released three albums of his original music, so he puts into practice the concepts he teaches.  He spent several years instructing guitar students as a member of the adjunct music faculty at Trinity Lutheran College, and he has been a featured clinician at the Christian Musician Summit, the Northwest Ministry Conference, and Worship Northwest.

He has created a full curriculum of relevant instructional material for which he has developed media presentations and customized worksheets.  With his dynamic teaching style, he is tremendously gifted in making musical concepts accessible and fun for the student.

His guitar journey so far includes 16 years of study.  He has traveled internationally to develop his guitar expertise, studying in residential settings with acoustic guitar virtuosos Alex De Grassi, Mark Hanson, John Renbourn, and Pierre Bensusan.  He has attended master classes with Phil Keaggy, John Standefer, Doyle Dykes, and Tony McManus.
